We are running the most exciting hackathon in the New England area for high school students. It will be a day of developing cool ideas, meeting other high school hackers, and learning the ins and outs of development.
Highschool hackathons are abundant in the west coast/California area, but are lacking on the other side of the country. hackNEHS is designed to allow high schoolers in the New England area to experience a hackathon. We want to introduce to beginners an easy way to code and spark their interests, or give more experienced coders a chance to explore new ideas and technology.

Judging Criteria

  • UI/User Experience
Does the UI look professional/fun? Is the project easy to understand and use? How well does the project flow? Does it feel like one cohesive project or a collection of features thrown together?
  • Creativity/Innovation
Was the idea unique, or a spinoff of an existing app/website? (if the idea is ordinary but the execution is done well, at least a 3 is warranted) Is there an ambitious concept? Does it solve a problem in a way you wouldn’t have thought of?
  • Overall Awesomeness (Weighted Twice)
Does it work? Did the team execute on their initial visions? Is the project technically difficult? Did the team utilize their technology stacks properly? Is it something that you would want to make if you had heard the idea beforehand?
